Occupational and Environmental Hygiene Forensic Investigations

At NESI, we have extensive experience conducting occupational and environmental hygiene forensic investigations, many of which have led to litigation or involved severe outcomes, including fatalities. These investigations are inherently complex due to the high level of experience and expertise required and the challenges posed by the lack of regulations or guidance documents. Our forensic investigations address the most challenging cases, where diagnosing the problem or condition demands advanced knowledge and investigative skills.

Our team of experts is well-equipped to handle these intricate cases. We have successfully managed unique forensic investigations, including those involving exposure to Aspergillus fumigatus in surgical suits from contaminated HVAC systems, identifying surface contamination from hydrofluoric acid due to the ignition of lithium phosphate ion batteries, and analyzing surface contamination from combustion by-products following a fire loss. These cases highlight our ability to tackle complex issues related to contaminant identification, quantification, and establishing safe levels of exposure.
